Course Description

Permit to Work systems play an essential role in ensuring the safe execution of high-risk activities at operational facilities. They help ensure all work carried out on-site follows a disciplined and systematic approach to assess the risks involved in a job and ensure all necessary precautions are taken.  Reducing risk and the opportunity for a loss-producing event to occur, Permit to Work systems help to safeguard frontline employees while allowing work to be completed in an efficient manner.

The Safe Permit to Work Systems: Effectively Managing High Risk Activities course will allow participants an opportunity to learn and strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the elements of a safe and efficient Permit to Work system, ultimately reducing the danger associated with high risk work activities.

Course Objectives

During the course, participants will learn not only how crucial a Permit to Work system is to ensuring the safe execution of high risk activities, but also the steps necessary to implement an effective, standardized and consistent Permit to Work system.

The course will also provide direction on managing challenges common to many Permit to Work systems, as well as how electronic Permit to Work systems can help to mitigate risk in real-time, improve the speed at which safe work can be completed, ensure frontline employee safety, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
